Biological design has long been a laborious, unpredictable, and artisanal process. Our research aims to advance the state-of-the-art in generative modeling and to apply these advances toward developing more capable biotechnologies. We are currently focused on improving evolutionary resilience of therapeutics and design problems that go beyond the molecular scale.

We aim to create a supportive environment in which all lab members are empowered to do incredibly bold science. Our work also transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries.

We are located at Stanford University in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Stanford Data Science. We also collaborate closely with Arc Institute, a non-profit research institution for curiosity-driven biomedical science and technology. This environment provides us with incredible colleagues and state-of-the-art computational and experimental resources. It also allows us to focus on open science with long-term impact.
